I am interested in writing about how Malcolm viewed his old self as a different person, because I want to discover how, why, and if he changed so much in prison. This is important because, as Malcolm says, his change in prison led him to be who he is today. One way to think about this is looking at his beliefs and actions before he went to prison and his beliefs and actions after he went to prison.
